A catch-all for your questions!

General Questions

  • When are you open?

We are generally open 7 days a week, 8am - 6pm, except we close at 5pm on Sundays and 3pm on major holidays. We are closed from December 25 to March 15 for the winter (and much needed rest!).

  • Are you hiring?

We have many seasonal positions, please email us at Dreyerfarms1904@gmail.com if you would like to apply.

  • Do you offer pick-your-own, hayrides, tours, corn mazes, and other agritourism activities?

No, we don’t have enough space to do these events. Please check out nearby Wightman Farms, wightmanfarms.com, which offers these activities.

  • Is your farm and produce organic?

No. Although we are not certified organic, we follow sustainable practices, including the use of IPM (Integrated Pest Management) and traditional techniques to control weeds - hoes, tractor cultivators and sweat. We eat and feed our families what we grow and sell!

  • Do you have farm animals?

No animals on the farm, we mainly grow vegetables and ornamental plants. Sorry no horses:(

  • What are those solar panels on the roof?

In 2018, we installed a 73 kW solar panel system on our barn and store. We love solar panels! They promote sustainability and have helped us slash our electric bill.

CSA Frequently Asked

  • How do I sign Up?

Go to our CSA page on this website or email dreyerfarmscsa@gmail.com

  • How often do I get a box?

You can receive a box either every week or every other week (odd weeks). The Small and Medium shares have every week or every other week options. The BAM and Essentials shares do not have an every other week option.

  • Can I pay in installments or do I have to pay in full for the whole season?

You have the option to either pay in full or pay in ⅓ installments. A perk for paying in full (by April 15) is access to picking flowers, tomatoes and herbs in our field behind the store. This is available mid July until mid October depending on the crop.

  • Will I know in advance what produce is coming in my box?

Yes! Every Monday morning we send out an email to all of our subscribers that describes what is coming in each size box as well as recipes to help with ideas for using your produce. Even those members who are not scheduled for a box the coming week will receive this email.

  • Can I cancel my box for a week if I am going on vacation?

Yes! Just email dreyerfarmscsa@gmail.com and let us know the dates you will be away and do not want to receive a box. At the end of the season, you will receive a gift card for up to 2 weeks of vacation hold for those weeks you didn’t receive a box and notified us beforehand.

You can also donate your box when you are on vacation. We will donate your box directly to Cranford Family Care. Send an email to dreyerfarmscsa@gmail.com and we will take care of it.

  • Are there different size boxes and how much do they cost?

Our website under CSA gives a description and price for each share size.

  • Do you deliver?

No. Pickup is at Dreyer Farms in Cranford, NJ.

  • What kind of payment options do you accept?

We take all kinds of credit and debit cards. You may also write us a check made out to Dreyer Farms and mail it to us. You may also come to the farm and pay in cash.

  • Do you grow everything at Dreyer Farms that we get in our box?

No, for items we don’t have room to grow we work with other local NJ Farms to bring you the best variety and value. If you hear of farmland available for sale in the Cranford area, please let us know!

  • How do I qualify to pick flowers, tomatoes and herbs?

Members can pick flowers, tomatoes and herbs in the field if you pay in full for your CSA share by April 15. Pick your own starts in mid July and goes until about mid October depending on the crop.

  • If I qualify to pick flowers, tomatoes and herbs, is it only on my pickup day?

Yes. We only allow non-employees in the field on CSA pick up days. We are a working farm and want to make sure everyone is safe.

Yes. You can make a trade of 1 (or 2) items. If you would rather pick the fruits and vegetables that you want in your box our Farm Club option may be the best share type for you. You can check out Farm Club here.

  • Can I return my empty box?

Absolutely! It’s encouraged to bring your box back the following week (as long as your cat doesn’t make it a bed :) ). We leave the boxes in our green house for at least 3 days before we use them again.

  • Am I allowed to switch my pickup day once in a while?

As long as you email dreyerfarmscsa@gmail.com by Monday of that week to give us a heads up, this is okay.

  • What time can I pick up my box?

Pickup time at Dreyer Farms is 10am-6pm on either Tuesday or Friday. If you can’t make it to the farm by 6pm, your box can be picked up the following day (Wednesday or Saturday) starting at 8am. It will be there until about 4pm and then will be donated to Cranford Family Care.

If alternate arrangements need to be made, please email dreyerfarmscsa@gmail.com.

Holiday Frequently Asked

  • When can I order pies?

We start taking pie and dessert orders a month out from the holiday they are for. For example, we’ll be taking Thanksgiving orders starting in October, and Christmas orders staring in November.

  • Where can I order pies and other desserts or turkey?

All our holiday products for pre-order are on our Shopify website. When they are for sale, watch our social media and check back on this website for the link to that website.

  • Can't I just call in my order?

We prefer either an online order or an in-person visit! Our store is quite busy at the time of ordering, so calling into the store takes a cashier away from their post.

  • Can I order holiday items same day?

Unfortunately not, we cannot guarantee that the pies or turkey sizes you want will be there. Though you’re not completely out of luck! Most seasons we have a few turkeys to sell in store and every season we have pie tables packed to the brim with various treats. It’s best to place an order to avoid lines and to guarantee your flavors, but if you forget or loose track of time, we’ve got you!

  • What do I need to pick up my order?

Just you! If you order online it is also helpful to have your confirmation order pulled up on your phone. You come up to our table designed for efficient pie distribution, say your last and first name to our employees, and they will find your order form, go to the back to fetch your items, then hand deliver them to you in the store. Easy as that!
